camping stove


There is nothing like a homemade stew made in the dutch oven over the camping stove. Imagine retuning to your campsite after a hardy hike to the aroma of a freshly made stew. The camping stove is fired up and the dutch oven sets on top with the boiling meal. I can smell it myself right now! 

When cooking on the camping stove I make sure to bring plenty of propane. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way when on one camping trip I ran out of gas and the meal was delayed a bit until I could get a wood campfire going. So now I bring more bottles of propane than I could possibly use and always leave a couple in the camping gear, just in case.

Cooking on the camping stove with my dutch oven is so much fun. I fill it with water and toss in some bouillon cubes with a nice piece of meat. I bring it to a boil and just let it go for awhile until the meat falls apart. Then I cut up fresh vegetables and toss them in the pot. Once the vegetables are slightly softened it is time to eat. I just love cooking with the dutch oven on the camping stove!
