Creating Light when Outdoor Camping |

Outdoor camping is a passion of my entire family. We are lucky in that we live in an area of the country where we can camp all year around. The scenery changes as the seasons change. In other words, in the summer my family and I will do our outdoor camping up North in the forested or lake areas. In the winter months we do a lot of desert camping. We spend most of our outdoor camping time at the Dunes when the weather turns cooler.
When camping outdoors and night falls there is a need for lighting. We use the old fashioned kerosene operated lanterns and battery run flashlights. We often cook out and have a light with clip to hang from the pop up tent cover so we can see while preparing the evening meal. Plus there is nothing better than a campfire when outdoor camping. As soon as dusk sets in we build a fire and keep it going until bedtime. We eat our cooked dinner around the campfire. Once inside for the night we use glow sticks to generate enough light to wash up and change clothes. We have found that it is easy to generate light when outdoor camping. |
