camping stove, outdoor camping


There is no reason why a great meal cannot be cooked on a camping stove. It's just like cooking over the gas stove at home. I have an old set of pots, pans and a great cast iron skillet that are used specifically for the camping stove. When preparing family meals while outdoor camping I like to take my time. I am not opposed to cutting up vegetables, potatoes and simmering a pot of stew for hours. 

Breakfast is my husbands ordeal when we go outdoor camping. He usually gets up first and starts a piping hot pot of coffee. The aroma generally rouses me from my slumber and I join him by the freshly rekindled campfire. I just love the brisk cool morning air and a cup of steaming coffee in my hands.
 
As my husband warms up the big iron skillet on the camping stove we cut up onions, bell pepper and potatoes for some killer hash browns. The bacon must be cooked before the rest of the ingredients go in. Then it is set aside to be kept warm over the campfire as he does the scrambled eggs and I make campfire toast. We sure do make great meals with our camping stove!
